Our programme, Higher Education Alliances, supports the articulation of global networks and the diversification of internationalization schemes. This programme provides access to international expertise that will allow the development of a comprehensive internationalization strategy for Higher Education Institutions to promote partnerships for long term collaboration. 

There are two modalities for which candidates can apply to: Modality 1 and Modality 2, compare the differences before applying.

Who can apply?

Modality 1 and  2

In Mexico: A not-for-profit Higher Education Institution with a record as an agent of regional development (universities and research centres). 

In the United Kingdom: A not-for-profit Institution with a record as an agent of international development (universities, research centres, public office and NGO’s).

What can this grant cover?

Modality 1

With up to £10,000 of funding, the grant can cover: 

  • International travelling costs (economy class)
  • International subsistence costs aligned with British Council policies
  • Visa fees
  • Medical insurance essential to the collaboration
  • Written translation and interpretation services

Modality 2

With up to £15,000 of funding, the grant can cover: 

  • Modality 1 covered costs 
  • Third party consultancy costs
  • Operational costs:  Activities integral to the collaboration and planning and logistics costs (short-term room hire, projectors, flip charts), planning and logistics including local transportation, basic catering costs associated with events directly related to the collaboration, other consumables and bank charges for transfer of funds from the MX institution to the UK institution for travel and subsistence (if applicable)

 

What is the expected outcome of this call?

Modality 1

3 to 5 day workshop with at least 2 UK mentoring sessions that generate a proposal for TNE development. 

Modality 2

A proposal for MX HEI to expand and develop their TNE and internationalization strategies in a global context. 

When should I implement my activities?

Modality 1 and 2

Successful candidates should implement their activities between September 2 and December 15, 2019.

How can I apply?

  1. British and Mexican participants must send their joint proposal filling the application form in English.
  2. The application form must be signed by the Mexican Institution and it’s counterpart in the partner institution.
  3. The application form and the supporting documents must be attached and sent to MX_infoHE@britishcouncil.org
  4. Deadline to submit your application form along with the supporting documents: July 14, 2019. 
  5. Successful candidates for any of the modalities will be notified on August 5, 2019
