Inspired by the Edinburgh Showcase held every two years in the Scottish capital, the Veracruz Institute of Culture (IVEC) presents for the first time the State Meeting of the Arts, in collaboration with the British Council and the Secretariat of Culture.
The main objective of the meeting is to create a platform that promotes the national and international projection and mobility of Veracruz artists, with a special focus on the cultural dialogue between Mexico and the United Kingdom, appealing to the wide tradition that exists in the performing arts in both countries.
Through an open call, proposals were selected from independent artists in the areas of dance, music and theatre, who received financial support for the development of the pieces presented during the event. The shows will be complemented by parallel activities such as business rounds and networking sessions with cultural managers and international art producers, and will include the participation of a number of UK delegates.
